GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As a lift operator/attendant, you play an important part in the daily operation and success of Sundown Mountain. You will be providing excellent customer service by interacting with all passengers and assisting them in a safe loading and unloading of the ski lift.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting skiers/snowboarders on and off chairlifts in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections, monitoring the equipment for possible problems and post operations shut down procedures
- Shovel and rake snow, chip ice and sweep chairs in a safe and efficient manner
- Check to ensure every skier or snowboarder has a valid day ticket or season pass each time before boarding the lift
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- The ability to work with people in a positive, cheerful, respectful manner
- Must be ready and willing to perform duties, which are not necessarily lift operation functions, but are necessary for the successful operation of Sundown Ski Resort
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 or older
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and late nights
- Must remain alert and attentive at all times
- Ability to shovel snow for long periods and meet physical demands of repetitive work which includes lifting and twisting and working outside for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Employees in good standing (i.e., consistently working the hours they are scheduled, on time, performing job adequately, etc.) will receive free skiing/snowboarding, meal discounts, and other benefits as described in the employee guidebook. Employee benefits are not transferable.

Help kick off every great day on the mountain!
Parking Lot and Lift Line Attendants are some of the first people our guests see. You’ll keep traffic flowing in the morning rush, keep lift lines moving, and work alongside our Lift Operators to keep every guest and employee safe.
What you’ll do:
- Direct parking lot traffic during the morning peak, guiding guests to open spots quickly and safely
- Check lift tickets and passes at the lift line
- Keep lift lines organized and moving, and help guests load with confidence
- Assist Lift Operators with safety and guest questions
- Help keep lift areas clear by shoveling snow and chipping ice
What we’re looking for:
- Friendly and upbeat, with that Midwestern hospitality
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather (yes, there will be lots of snow!)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Hill Crew workers perform a wide variety of jobs throughout the ski area, including but not limited to snowmaking, snow grooming, maintenance of machinery, shoveling snow, and general repairs in carpentry, plumbing, etc. This position working outdoors in the cold hours of each day. This is a seasonal position may be full-time or part-time
PAY AND BENEFITS:
Pay and raises will be determined by the Department Manager. Raises are granted on an individual basis depending on performance as determined by manager. Employees in good standing (i.e. consistently work their scheduled shifts, are on-time to shift, etc.) will receive free skiing, meal discounts, a discount at the Gift Shop, and other benefits as described in Employee Guidebook.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires good physical condition, as it requires strenuous outdoor activity. Be well groomed, work well with others, and have a good public image when working around skiers. This position requires weekends, evenings, and holidays. This position involves working with a wide variety of machines, should have a strong mechanical background as well as respect for the equipment and tools. Applicant must be 18 years old.

Share your love of the snow!
Our instructors help guests of all ages click into their first pair of skis, link their first turns on a board, and build the confidence to keep coming back. If you love skiing or snowboarding and enjoy working with people, this is the job for you.
What you’ll do:
- Teach group and private lessons for beginner through intermediate skiers and snowboarders
- Keep students safe and help them progress at their own pace
- Teach lift riding, mountain safety, and the Responsibility Code
- Help with lesson check-in and lineups
- Bring a patient, positive attitude in all weather
What we’re looking for:
- Solid skiing or snowboarding ability (intermediate or better)
- Patient and encouraging with both kids and adults
- No certification required. We’ll train you.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Perform routine inspection, maintenance and safety checks of all Terrain Park Features. Installation and maintenance of all Terrain Park signage, banners, closures, markings, and fencing. Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures set within the Terrain Park Department. Educate guests on proper Terrain Park use following the Smart Style Guidelines. Assist Ski Patrol with injuries, this includes the temporary closing of features and to determine reopening once Ski Patrol is off the scene. Report any park design issues to Terrain Park Manager / Park Crew Supervisor or Hill Manager. Maintains a consistent “on hill” presence within the designated Terrain Park areas.
Sundown Mountain Resort is a quality winter recreation resort. Friendly customer service is vital to our operation. We believe you will best serve in the department you request; however, when staffing is short in any area, you may be required to temporarily take a turn using your best customer service training.
REQUIREMENTS:
This is a physically demanding position that requires a lot of walking on snow covered slopes, excellent balance and good physical dexterity. The position requires working in the cold for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds regularly. Must be able to ride proficiently in the Terrain Park and understand Terrain Park low and etiquette. Must be proficient in using power tools and build new features. Applicant must be 16 years or older.

Be the first friendly face guests see at Sundown!
Guest Services is the front door of Sundown Mountain. You’ll greet guests at the ticket window, help them over the phone, and support our Group Office, so every guest starts their day knowing exactly where to go.
What you’ll do:
- Sell lift tickets, lessons, rentals, and season products at the ticket window, and help guests with online purchases
- Answer the main phone line, route calls to the right department, and share pricing, specials, events, and snow conditions
- Help the Group Office with reservations, rentals, and lessons for groups of 15 or more
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Answer general resort questions in person, by phone, and by email
What we’re looking for:
- Friendly, outgoing, and patient (especially on busy weekends)
- Comfortable with computers, a cash drawer, and a ringing phone

What you’ll do:
- Greet guests and help them find apparel, gear, and gifts
- Ring up sales and handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Restock shelves, fold and organize merchandise, and keep displays looking sharp
- Help receive and tag new inventory
- Answer general resort questions and point guests in the right direction
What we’re looking for:
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable starting conversations with guests
- An eye for keeping things neat and organized
- Retail experience is a plus, but not required

Our custodial team keeps North Lodge, South Lodge, and the Mountain Center clean, safe, and welcoming for every guest who walks through the doors. It’s a great first job with a fun team and free time on the snow.
What you’ll do:
- Clean and restock restrooms throughout the day
- Sweep, mop, and keep floors and entryways clear of snow and water
- Empty trash and recycling, and keep seating and dining areas tidy
- Handle light maintenance tasks and report anything that needs repair
- Help with opening and closing cleaning routines
What we’re looking for:
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
- Comfortable staying on your feet and lifting up to 50 lbs

Our kitchens keep Sundown fed, from the first breakfast order to the last plate of the night across North Lodge and South Lodge. Whether you’re on the line, prepping ingredients, or keeping dishes moving, you’re a key part of the team that takes care of our guests after a day on the mountain.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare and cook menu items to recipe and presentation standards (line cook)
- Wash, chop, portion, and prep ingredients for each shift (food prep)
- Wash dishes, pots, and utensils, and keep the dish area running smoothly (dishwashing)
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Keep stations stocked, clean, and organized, and help with opening and closing
What we’re looking for:
- Hardworking, dependable, and good under pressure during rushes
- A team player who communicates well with servers and other cooks
- Kitchen experience is a plus, but we’ll train you

Our servers make Tips Up Food & Spirits the place to be after a day on the mountain. You’ll take care of skiers, snowboarders, families, and guests who come just for the food and the sunset.
What you’ll do:
- Greet guests, take orders, and make menu recommendations
- Enter orders accurately and serve food and drinks promptly
- Check in on tables and handle requests with a smile
- Process payments and handle cash and cards accurately
- Help with setup, restocking, and closing side work
What we’re looking for:
- Friendly, attentive, and able to juggle several tables at once
- Serving experience is a plus, but not required

Behind the bar at any of our lodge/trail bars, you’ll keep guests happy from the après crowd to live music weekends. It’s fast, social, and a lot of fun.
What you’ll do:
- Mix and serve beer, wine, and cocktails accurately and consistently
- Check IDs and serve alcohol responsibly
- Take food orders at the bar and work with servers and the kitchen
- Keep the bar stocked, clean, and organized, and help with opening and closing
- Handle payments and balance your drawer
What we’re looking for:
- Bartending experience preferred
- Personable, quick, and comfortable with a busy bar

Food Runners are the link between our kitchen and our guests at Tips Up Food & Spirits. You’ll get hot food to the right table fast, so our servers can focus on guests and everyone gets back to the snow (or the view) happy.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver orders from the kitchen to guests quickly and accurately, including online orders
- Check plates for accuracy and presentation before they leave the kitchen
- Clear and reset tables, and restock napkins, utensils, and condiments
- Support servers and the kitchen during rushes
- Keep dining areas clean and welcoming
What we’re looking for:
- Quick on your feet and calm under pressure
- A team player with a positive attitude
