Join us Saturday, October 11, 2025, for Mayhem on the Mountain—a high-energy off-roading event at Sundown Mountain Resort in Dubuque, Iowa. Designed for off-road enthusiasts of all levels, MOTM features a full day of trail challenges, rock crawling, and mud-slinging action across our terrain. Enjoy live music, local food trucks, and browse the latest gear from off-road vendors. Make it a weekend by reserving a primitive camping spot and spending Friday night under the stars, sharing stories around the campfire. CAMPING INFORMATION

Camping is available both Friday and Saturday night for one fee of $15 per site. You MUST reserve a campsite with your registration prior to arrival. Book On Site Camping Here.  

 

Campfires are allowed in fire rings and grills only. Fire rings must be elevated. Do not leave fires unattended, and put out all fires before leaving.

PRIMITIVE CAMPING 

A variety of primitive campsites are available throughout our property. Campsites will open at 3pm on Friday, with a on a first come, first serve basis for location selection. Four-wheeled vehicles are required to access sites. 

 

RV CAMPING

Our RV parking is located in our South Parking Lot (across Asbury Rd.). We offer only boondocking camping (no water, sewer or electrical connections). Please CLICK HERE to see a list of RV Parks available in the area with these amenities.

Event & Property Policies

 

ARE CARRY-IN’S ALLOWED? 

NO. Carry-ins are NOT allowed anywhere on the property. 

 

WHAT VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED? 

All 4×4 vehicles are welcome, including ATVs, Side-by-Sides, UTVs, and any 4-wheel drive vehicles. No 2 or 3-wheeled vehicles are permitted (no motorcycles, dirt bikes, or 3-wheeled ATVs). 

 

CAN I DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO MY CAMPSITE?

Trailside primitive camping can be accessed only by vehicles with four-wheel drive. We do have a designated campsite for RVs in our South Lot. 

 

IS THERE OFF-SITE LODGING AVAILABLE?

ARE DOGS ALLOWED AT THIS EVENT?

Yes, this is a dog-friendly event. All dogs must be on a leash, and any dog displaying aggressive behavior will need to leave the property. Dog owners are also responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

With the forecasted heavy rain, we have decided to close tomorrow to preserve our snow. We plan on reopening on Saturday, March 7 at 9AM and operate as planned for the weekend.
