Where Winter Fun Meets Community Impact
Kick off an unforgettable winter weekend at Sundown Mountain with the United Way Olympic Kickoff, a high-energy community celebration that blends winter sports, live music, and Olympic spirit—all while raising critical funds and awareness for United Way of Greater Dubuque.
This special Friday event sets the tone for a themed weekend at Sundown, bringing our community together for friendly competition, après-ski fun, and a shared mission to support local programs that strengthen our region.
For one day only, guests can purchase a United Way Full Lift Ticket for $40, which includes free rentals if needed, with 50% of all lift ticket proceeds donated directly to United Way. Whether you’re skiing, riding, or just soaking up the atmosphere, your night on the mountain helps make a real local impact.
Throughout the evening, United Way volunteers will be on-site in the North Lodge to share information about their work in the community and to host fun fundraising activities, including a 50/50 raffle, shotski fundraising, and complimentary s’mores cups to keep the vibes cozy.
The celebration ramps up with live music from Tony Walker from 4:00–8:00 PM, followed by the Olympic Opening Ceremony broadcast beginning at 8:00 PM, creating a true kickoff party feel that carries into the night.
Whether you’re here for the skiing, the music, or the cause, the United Way Olympic Kickoff is your chance to celebrate winter, community, and giving—all in one place.
