GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Ski Area Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of equipment of the ski area including, but not limited to chairlifts, conveyor lifts, grooming equipment and construction equipment.

Sundown Mountain Resort is a quality winter recreation resort.  Friendly customer service is vital to our operation. We believe you will best serve in the department you request; however, if staffing is short in any area, you may be required to temporarily take a turn using your best customer service skills in another area.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

The Ski Area Mechanic position may vary from a part-time seasonal to full-time year round. Starting pay will be determined by the Mountain Manager.  Raises will be granted on an individual basis depending on performance as determined by the department supervisor. Employees in good standing (i.e. consistently work their scheduled shifts, are on time for shifts, etc.) will receive free skiing, meal discounts, and other benefits as described in the Employee Guidebook. Employee benefits are NOT transferable.

REQUIREMENTS:

An applicant should be in good physical condition, as this position requires climbing left towers (up to 35’) and performing maintenance work at these heights.  This position requires knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, belt tensioning systems and basic electrical systems.  This position involves both indoor and outdoor work.  Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Hill Crew workers perform a wide variety of jobs throughout the ski area, including but not limited to snowmaking, snow grooming, maintenance of machinery, shoveling snow, and general repairs in carpentry, plumbing, etc. This position working outdoors in the cold hours of each day.  Hours and shifts vary but they do involve late afternoon thru early morning.  This is a seasonal position may be full-time or part-time.  Most seasons this position slows down in early January and transitions to lift operation or other areas that need help.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

Pay and raises will be determined by the Department Manager.  Raises are granted on an individual basis depending on performance as determined by manager.  Employees in good standing (i.e. consistently work their scheduled shifts, are on-time to shift, etc.) will receive free skiing, meal discounts, a discount at the Gift Shop, and other benefits as described in Employee Guidebook.  

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires good physical condition, as it requires strenuous outdoor activity.  Be well groomed, work well with others, and have a good public image when working around skiers. This position requires weekends, evenings, and holidays.  This position involves working with a wide variety of machines, should have a strong mechanical background as well as respect for the equipment and tools.  Applicant must be 18 years old.

The mechanic is responsible for the routine maintenance and troubleshooting on all equipment in the physical operation of the ski area.  This equipment includes, is not limited to, snow cats, snow machines, dozers, tractors. Trucks, ATV’S, chairlifts.  The mechanic will take direction from, answer to the Mountain Manager but must work well with others in the department.

-Assistant to the Group Office Manager

-Answering incoming calls regarding pricing, selling, and reservations; answering questions regarding general resort information.
 -Good office skills are needed: computer skills, mail, email, cash handling, spreadsheets in excel, office machinery (copy machines, printers, calculators, a credit card machine, etc.) and other office duties.   
-Friendly and helpful customer skills

-Ability to problem solve is helpful

-Must be able to manage employees with respect and fairness.

-Cross-training in the ticket window and rental department may be asked as help is needed in those areas.    .

-This job consists of working most weekends, nights and Christmas week – peak times of business. This is a full-time seasonal position.

 

-This role requires you to manage the group office on most weekends. Including management of office personnel when the Group Office Manager is out of the office or off the  premises.



PAY AND BENEFITS:

 

Group Office Assistant is a full time seasonal position. New employees will start at a rate of $15.00 per hour. Maximum hours will be 35-40 weekly.  Raises will be determined by the Group Office Manager.

Group Office Receptionist is a seasonal part-time position.  New employees will start at a pay rate of $12.00 per hour.  Maximum hours will be 20-25 per week.  Willing to work weekends is required.  Raises will be determined by the Group Office Manager.
